Who are we?
Spin Cycle Presents is a music and events promotional company that focuses on building the Southern California jam band community, deriving its sound from The Grateful Dead and Phish cultures, but also branching out to other distinct genres such as psychedelic rock, reggae, funk, folk, blues, electronica, bluegrass, jazz, fusion and world music. Spin Cycle Presents has been involved in other high profile events around the L.A. area such as promoting nationally recognized bands at the Wiltern, the House of Blues Anaheim and the Teragram Ballroom, just to name a few.
The Role
Spin Cycle Presents is looking for 2-3 highly motivated and proactive social media interns to join our growing team. The perfect candidates are business or music students that would like to expand their knowledge and skills of social media management, marketing and promotion by optimizing our social media accounts, participating in online outreach and promotion, posting on social networks, and managing a content calendar. Candidates should also possess strong knowledge of the digital media landscape, including Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Tik Tok, & Facebook. Those looking to gain valuable online media experience with an established organization are encouraged to apply.
Job Type: Part-time, unpaid, college credit offered

Responsibilities:
Update website and event page
Create posts and stories on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Reddit to promote upcoming events, surveys, album and live music reviews and more
Share events on Meetup.com, public calendars and blogs
Work with owner and musicians to collect information for live shows and streams
Create and update flyers for live shows and streams
Help manage event campaigns
Attend live shows to enhance social media content and network with local business owners and professionals
Pass out flyers at shows and/or retail drops
Consistently updating and executing the tasks on the content calendar
Assists with other duties as assigned on a regular or occasional basis
Qualifications:
Must own a laptop and smartphone (with access to wifi)
Must own a reliable vehicle
Knowledge of Google Drive (Docs, Sheets) (required)
Knowledge of Zoom (Required)
Knowledge of the jam band scene with a pulse on up and coming artists and events (preferred)
21+ years of age before the first day of starting this internship (preferred)
Must be detail oriented
Comfortable socializing and networking
Experience using Mailchimp (preferred)
Experience using Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Twitch and Reddit (preferred)
Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a 2 or 4 year college/university (prefered)
Knowledge of Squarespace and Sparxo (or other online ticketing platform) (preferred)
Professional email writing etiquette
Ability to learn quickly and communicate effectively with others
Ability to meet deadlines and execute tasks efficiently
Commit to working approximately 10 hours per week
Must be an active problem solver, instilled with a sense of urgency for projects large and small
Knowledge of music blogs, magazines, publications, etc (If you have media connections even better!)
Strong research abilities
A strong personal brand (prefered)
Passion for music
Work Environment:
Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments
Must be willing to work during evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines
